Computers and system requirements

Needed computers

The computers you need depend mainly on the license configuration type. The table below provides information about the computers you need for different license configuration types.

System requirements

NAPA recommends a high-performance computer for a more satisfactory experience of using NAPA software.

The following tables show the supported operating systems and recommended hardware configurations.

The hyphen "-" means that there are no special requirements.

Important

System requirements depend on the NAPA software release. Check the appropriate requirements for the release you set up.

[a] The general policy is that NAPA only supports 64-bit Windows operating systems that are supported by the operating system's manufacturer (Microsoft).

  • ARM-based processors are not supported.

  • For processors with a hybrid architecture, you are strongly recommended to use CoreDirector software. It helps to increase the performance of NAPA software especially in demanding calculations by enabling NAPA software to always use the performant (P) core for operations.

Important

Users of NAPA Designer are strongly recommended to update the graphics adapter drivers in order to have the latest graphic acceleration features. Without updated drivers, some problems may occur.

[c] When you are doing calculations and modeling at the same time, the optimal way of working is to use 2 displays: one for NAPA Engineer and another one for NAPA Designer.
